Are you having trouble with YVC Library pages loading or being asked to log in to access materials? Try these troubleshooting tips!
Getting Access on Campus
If you are on campus and attempting to access materials from YVC Library, you must be logged in to the YVCC-Students Wi-Fi
- Go to your Wi-Fi settings - select YVCC-Students
- You will be asked to enter a User name and Password (see image below).
- Your user name is your complete YVCC student email address and your password will be your YVCC student email password.
- If you require help with your YVCC student email, please visit Technology Services: Help Desk

- Once you have entered your user name and password, select OK.
- Close your browser, open it again, and attempt to access YVC library resources. You should be able to access our materials now without having to provide additional credentials.
Getting Access Off-Campus
If you are off-campus and attempting to access materials from YVC Library, you must login with your YVC credentials
- Once you choose a resource to access, click on the link and you will be automatically taken to a sign-in page.
- Enter your YVCC email first, then enter your YVCC email password.
- If you don't know your YVC email, use this link to find it: https://my.yvcc.edu/StudentEmailLookup
Try a Different Browser
Sometimes there is an issue with how the web browser and the website are working together. When this happens the quickest solution is to try a different web browser and see if the issue is still present. There are many browsers to choose from. Some of the most commonly used include:
Delete Your Cookies and Cache
Deleting your cookies and cache data is usually recommended if this issue is not resolved by opening a new browser or if it keeps happening. Here's a how-to guide for clearing them in the most common browsers:
Chrome Browser |
- Click the Tools menu (three dotted lines in the upper-right corner).
- Select History.
- Select Clear Browsing Data from the left-hand side. Set the Time Range set to All Time. Check-mark Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files and select Clear Data.
- If on a Windows computer, close and re-open Chrome to save your changes. If on an Apple computer, go to the Chrome menu on the top menu bar and select Quit for the changes to take effect.

Edge |
- Click the Tools menu (three dotted lines in the upper-right corner), and open the Settings menu.
- Click Privacy, search, and services on the left-side menu.
- Under the section Clear browsing data, Click Choose what to clear.
- Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear Now.
- Close Microsoft Edge completely for your changes to take effect.

Firefox Browser |
- Click on the Tools bar (three horizontal lines on the top-right corner)
- Click on History
- One the menu to the right, select Clear Recent History
- In the Clear All History menu, select the time range to Everything
- Select the options Cookies, Cache, Active Logins, Site Settings, and Offline website data
- Click OK
- If on a Windows computer, close and re-open Firefox to save your changes. If on an Apple computer, go to the Firefox menu on the top menu bar and select Quit for the changes to take effect.

Safari (macOS) |
- Click on Safari on the top menu bar.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Click Manage Website Data.
- Click Remove All.
- Click Remove Now.
- Go to the Safari menu on the top menu bar.
- Select Quit to close Safari and save your changes.
