Are the librarians available for research help?

Yes, YVC librarians are available to help you with any research assistance during open hours and by appointment. Librarians are available virtually on AskWA anytime.

How can I contact a YVC librarian for help?

There are a few ways to contact a librarian. Choose the best option that meets your needs. We will respond within 48 hours.

  • You can come in during our open hours to meet with a librarian.

  • You can email us at refdesk@yvcc.edu and the librarian on duty will take your question.

  • You can do online chat on AskWA  24/7, but a YVC librarian is available during the library's operating hours.

What if I need help after hours when YVC is closed?

If you need immediate assistance and it can't wait, please send your question to AskWA. AskWA is available 24/7 and a librarian from a different college will be ready to assist you.

Are the study rooms on the 2nd floor available to use in the library?

Are supplies and DVD/VHS films still available for faculty?

Yes, please contact the Media Center at 509-574-4982 or email at media@yvcc.edu.

How can I borrow laptops, SWIVLs, calculators, or digital cameras during the quarter?

You can contact the Library at 509-574-4983 or email at media@yvcc.edu or visit us during our normal operating hours. 

Can I borrow the 'textbooks on reserve' from the library?

Yes, you may come to the library during our open hours and request the books at the reference desk.
