This guide gives a brief overview of your friendly YVC Library Staff and the services and support the library offers

Reference

YVC librarians are available to help you with any research assistance you might have.  Feel free to stop by during normal business hours or make an an appointment.  Librarians are available virtually on AskWA anytime you might need them! 

Librarians can assist you in finding and evaluating resources for your papers and literature reviews. 

Circulation

Individuals borrowing materials from Raymond Library or the Media Center must have a library account and show photo identification.  If the photo identification is not a YVC issued student/employee card, the individual must also know their YVC number.

Consultations

Get personalized, in-depth research assistance by scheduling a consultation today!  A librarian will work with you one-on-one for up to 50 minutes to help you develop a research topic or explore one you've already decided upon.  We will create search strategies, match recommended databases to your topic and point you in the right direction. InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

Have you found a resource the library doesn't own or have immediate full text access to?  Don't despair, we can borrow it from another library from almost anywhere in the world!  Our librarians are happy to help you find the item or article you need.  Request your article here!

Course Reserves

Want to put a textbook or a resource on Reserve?

Email us at refdesk@yvcc.edu or call the desk at 509.574.4991.

  • Items can be personal copies or library owned copies.

  • The library cannot put Interlibrary Loans on reserve.

  • For library owned copies, please include the call number so that we can pull the items for you.

You will be notified at the end of each quarter to either pick up your items or renew for next quarter.
