Student Services: Raymond Library

Important Announcements

Get help with your library questions via chat, email, text, phone or even one-on-one meetings

The librarians at Raymond Library are here to help you find resources for your assignment, project or essay.  We'll create a research strategy based on your topic, identify resources and create search terms to help you locate the information you need to be successful in your class.

Plus, as a YVC student, you have access to AskWA, an interactive chat service that connects you with a librarian 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!  Use them when Raymond Library is closed but you still need to ask a librarian a question!

Have a group project?  Like to study with friends?  Schedule our group study rooms here.

If you need the multimedia room complete with a podcast microphone, video recording and editing programs, a motion sensor webcam and green screen, use the drop down and select Recording Studio.

The Raymond Library circulation staff helps you manage your library materials, whether you need to check them out, renew or return them.  They can also answer questions about your library account including what is checked out to you or when library materials are due back.

Borrow laptops, SWIVL's, Calculators, digital cameras, books, and graphic novels from the library.   We also have bone models and course textbooks you can check out for short periods of time.  Stop by the front desk of Raymond Library, email us, or call 509.574.4974 to discover all the possibilities!

Students have FREE access to Microsoft Office 365.  It requires the use of your YVC student email.  Visit the research guide for instructions on how to install the software on your computer today.

Explore brief video tutorials to get you started with library research.  Don't forget to use the arrows in the middle of your screen to see all the tutorials available!

Don't waste your time with Google!  Find the best library databases for your research - browse alphabetically, by subject or by database type.  Look for an automatic citation generator within them to save you even more time.

This collection of guides are designed by librarians to help you get started on your research.  Use them to discover recommended resources on a specific subject or assignment, learn strategies for conducting research or learn how to make the most of some of our more popular online databases.
